Lagos State University (LASU) Vice Chancellor Eid-el-kabir message to colleagues, world-class students and other respected stakeholders.

Eid Mubarak my dear diligent, competent and hardworking colleagues, world-class students and other respected stakeholders.

I thank Almighty Allah for making it possible for us to witness another Eid-El-Kabir festival which honours the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Prophet Ismail (AS) as an act of obedience to Allah's command.

Eid-El-Kabir is a symbolic event in the history of mankind, given the bountiful rewards that followed the patience and perseverance of Prophet Ibrahim, who held on tenaciously to his faith in Allah despite being afflicted.

As we celebrate this holy and joyous occasion, I urge us all to imbibe the lessons of the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim and work for the unity, peace and progress of the University, Lagos State and the nation as a whole. I pray that the Almighty Allah  (SWT) in his infinite mercies forgives us all our sins and bestows his blessings on us all. May his blessings light up our paths and lead to happiness, peace and success.

Finally, as we celebrate, I urge us to use this occasion to pray for the repose of the souls of two of our dear colleagues, Prof. Lai Oso of our Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, and Mr. Ganiu Abdulateef Olalekan of our Non-Academic Staff Establishment who recently lost their lives under painful circumstances. May their souls continue to find rest. Amen.
