Lagos State University of Education has announced the commencement of its Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise for candidates of Lagos State origin seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the announcement, the online registration for the verification exercise will run from Monday, May 18, 2026, to Sunday, June 14, 2026, while the physical interview sessions will take place between Monday, June 1, 2026, and Thursday, June 25, 2026.

The university stated that only candidates of Lagos State origin who selected LASUED as first choice in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 185 are eligible to participate in the exercise.

The verification interview will be conducted at the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hall within the university premises.

Applicants are required to present several documents for screening, including the indigeneship form, payment receipt, birth certificates (for both candidate and father), a letter from the Oba, a letter from the Local Government Chairman, and landed property documents.

The institution specifically emphasised that the “letter from Oba” is mandatory and must be strictly adhered to as part of the verification requirements.

Lagos State University of Education clarified that participation in the indigeneship verification exercise does not automatically guarantee admission, but is a compulsory step in the admission consideration process for eligible candidates.

The screening schedule is structured across four weeks, with sessions held from Mondays to Thursdays each week throughout June 2026.

The university also noted that payment for the exercise should only be made through its official portal at https://lasued.edu.ng/liive/, warning applicants against making payments to unauthorized accounts or individuals.

It further stated that all Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin must also participate in the verification exercise before being considered for admission.

Old applicants from the 2025/2026 academic session who were not offered admission are required to revalidate their indigeneship clearance at the designated venue.

The institution warned that any applicant who engages in payment outside the approved platform does so at their own risk.
