LASUED Hosts FUSTECH Pioneer Management, Deepens Institutional Collaboration Talks and Announces Admission Benchmark

The engagement took place at the Multimedia Complex Room of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office on Thursday, May 7, 2026, and focused on strategic consultation, partnership development, and administrative support for the newly established institution.
The Vice-Chancellor of LASUED, Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, welcomed the delegation and described the transformation of the institution from a college to a full-fledged university as a result of sustained institutional development and government support.
She noted that LASUED has increasingly become a preferred destination for admission seekers, attributing the rising demand to improved credibility, institutional stability, and strong backing from the Lagos State Government.
She further encouraged the visiting pioneer leadership team to remain committed, resilient, and collaborative in building a strong foundation for their institution, stressing that pioneering roles require sacrifice and sustained leadership energy.
The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized the importance of institutional branding and identity development, advising the visiting team to establish key symbols such as an anthem and slogan to strengthen visibility and public relations efforts.
In a major announcement, she disclosed that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) cut-off mark for the current admission cycle into LASUED has been set at 185.

She also assured the visiting team of LASUED’s readiness to collaborate in critical areas including staffing support, facility sharing, and institutional capacity development, describing collaboration as essential for sustainable university growth.
The leader of the visiting delegation, Kazeem A. Oshokoya, commended LASUED for its transformation journey and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn from an already established institution.
He stated that the visit was driven by the need to build a symbiotic relationship and explore areas of cooperation such as staff development, resource assessment, and shared institutional expertise.
Other principal officers of LASUED present at the meeting included Deputy Vice-Chancellors Daodu Morufu Adedayo and Shittu Morufudeen Adeniyi, alongside Registrar Akinfemiwa Opeoluwa Akinlabi, Bursar Ganiu Ajose Adeniyi, and University Librarian Imam Abayomi.
Also in attendance were administrative officers including Sami Omolara and Soares Olumiyiwa.

The visit concluded with both institutions expressing optimism about future collaboration aimed at strengthening academic systems, administrative structures, and institutional development outcomes.
