Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has emerged victorious at the prestigious Cavista Hackathon 2025, showcasing exceptional innovation and teamwork. The two-day event, which took place from Saturday, February 22, to Sunday, February 23, at Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, saw LASUSTECH students outshine their peers with groundbreaking technological solutions.
The Cavista Technologies Hackathon serves as a platform for students to engage in experiential learning, foster innovation, and unlock collaborative opportunities. Participants tackled hacking challenges designed to refine their problem-solving and teamwork skills—an essential aspect of their future careers.
According to Cavista Technologies’ General Manager, Mrs. Oyebola Morakinyo, the third edition of the Hackathon was aimed at harnessing the intellectual capabilities of young Nigerians and empowering them to solve real-life problems through technological innovation.
The LASUSTECH team, known as Team Stark Underflow, comprised Ohieku Eneji Peacemaker, a 300-level Mechatronics student, alongside three 200-level Computer Science students—Ituma Chidi Moses, Onyeka Joshua Ituma, and Makanjuola Emmanuel Iseoluwa. Their outstanding performance earned them the top prize of two million naira, a testament to their creativity, hard work, and technical expertise.
Celebrating their achievement, LASUSTECH Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, congratulated the students and urged them to continue excelling, thereby bringing more recognition to the university. Their success highlights the institution’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering excellence in technology-driven fields.
