McPherson University has organised a specialised training programme for its Bursary Department on the newly enacted 2026 Tax Law, as part of efforts to ensure full compliance with Nigeria’s evolving fiscal framework.

The seminar, led by the University Bursar, Mrs. Aderonke Adeofun, focused on equipping bursary staff with the practical knowledge required to implement the new tax regulations. She stressed that continuous training and retraining are critical to keeping the University’s financial operations accurate, efficient, and compliant with statutory requirements.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, commended the Bursary Department for taking a proactive approach to the new legislation, noting that many staff members have expressed concern about how the law will affect their take-home pay. He said the session was designed to provide clear and authoritative guidance on the implications of the tax changes.

Professor Igbasan also announced that the University plans to extend similar training to the wider University community to ensure that all staff understand the 2026 Tax Law and its impact on their earnings and financial planning.
