In response to the protest by the dental students of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) concerning the lack of accreditation for their Faculty, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has taken decisive action, announcing and scheduling a date for the accreditation exercise.

In a press release issued by Agbaseni Micheal Amankye, the UNIJOS Dental Students Association revealed that they had received official communication from the MDCN regarding the commencement and scheduling of the accreditation exercise for the Faculty of Dental Sciences at the University of Jos.

The statement read, "We have been informed that the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has scheduled the accreditation exercise for the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Jos, to commence on July 4, 2024."
