Meet Prof. Ridwanu Mukhtar Bunza: Dean of Student Affairs, BUK

Bayero University Kano continues to produce outstanding leaders, and Prof. Ridwanu Mukhtar Bunza is a clear example.

He started at Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, then joined BUK in 2017. By 2024, at age 38, he became a full Professor — one of the youngest in BUK’s history.

With over 50 scholarly publications in biodiversity conservation and sustainable forestry, his work contributes to national and global discussions on environmental sustainability.

Today he serves as Dean of Student Affairs, BUK. In this role he combines academic excellence with leadership focused on student development, mentorship, and institutional growth.
