Minister of Education Inaugurates Monitoring Committee on Needs Assessment of Public Tertiary Institutions

The Honourable Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has inaugurated the Implementation Monitoring Committee for the Needs Assessment of Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. During the inauguration, Prof. Mamman emphasized the critical role of the committee in overseeing the Presidential Policy Assessment Fund, which is dedicated to enhancing public tertiary education institutions.
The committee's mandate includes supporting the comprehensive development of Nigerian universities, focusing on infrastructure, equipment, and human resources. Prof. Mamman highlighted the importance of this initiative in boosting the quality of tertiary education across the country.
In his remarks, TETFund Executive Secretary, Arch. S.T. Echonu, advocated for the establishment of branch-level budget monitoring committees to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of funds.
ASUU President, Prof. Victor Emmanuel Osodeke, also stressed the need to revamp Nigeria's education system, calling for proper funding and effective oversight to achieve the country's educational development goals.
