NACJ-UDUS Hosts Webinar on Enhancing Female Representation in Journalism at Usmanu Danfodiyo University

On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the National Association of Campus Journalists (NACJ) at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) organized a virtual webinar for its members. The session, held via Google Meet, was facilitated by Maryam Abdullahi, a UDUS alumna and reporter with TheCable.

The webinar, titled “Gender Inclusion: Why Female Voices Matter in Journalism,” focused on the importance of female representation in journalism. Abdullahi emphasized that female reporters are crucial for ensuring balanced coverage of stories related to women.

She suggested that even when male reporters cover female-centric stories, involving a female journalist can provide more accurate and comprehensive perspectives.
