NAUB Hosts EFCC Delegation for Sensitization and Zero Tolerance Club Inauguration

The Nigerian Army University, Biu (NAUB), recently played host to a delegation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Maiduguri Zonal Office.

The visit was part of the Commission's ongoing sensitization campaign aimed at promoting integrity and zero tolerance for corruption in institutions across the country.

The Vice-Chancellor of NAUB, Professor Lawan Bala Buratai, emphasized the importance of instilling values of integrity and accountability in future leaders. He welcomed the EFCC team and highlighted the critical role that educational institutions play in shaping the values and behaviors of young people.

The Zonal Director of the EFCC, Maiduguri Zonal Office, Aisha A.T. Habib, explained that the EFCC Integrity Club is designed to promote ethical behavior, integrity, and awareness against all forms of corruption. She noted that the Commission is committed to inclusivity in the fight against corruption and that everyone has a role to play in promoting integrity.

The EFCC team inaugurated the Zero Tolerance Club in NAUB, with Dr. Emmanuel Luke Balami appointed as the Club's Patron. The Club's executives, including Yusuf Ibrahim Yusuf, Adubinu Oluwaseyi Felicia, and Safia Yusuf Rabiu, were also inaugurated.

The EFCC delegation also visited Command Day Secondary School, Biu, and the NAUB staff children school to introduce the pupils to the EFCC Integrity Club and instill a culture of integrity and anti-corruption from an early age. The event concluded with a group photograph and expressions of appreciation from both institutions.

The visit marked a significant milestone in the EFCC's efforts to promote integrity and combat corruption among Nigerian youths. The inauguration of the Zero Tolerance Club in NAUB and the sensitization campaign in the schools demonstrate the Commission's commitment to building a culture of integrity and accountability in the country.
