The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦2.1 billion in student loans to 18,998 students across 40 higher institutions in Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in expanding educational access.

 The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦2.1 billion in student loans to 18,998 students across 40 higher institutions in Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in expanding educational access.

The announcement, made on NELFUND's official X account on Friday, 6th September, brings the total number of supported institutions to 59. This disbursement aims to alleviate financial challenges for students, ensuring they can continue their studies without interruption.

  • Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State – ₦10.8 million
  • University of Ilesa, Osun State – ₦98.9 million
  • University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State – ₦66.9 million
  • Abia State University, Abia State – ₦12.5 million
  • Federal University of Technology, Babura, Jigawa State – ₦64.6 million
  • Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi State – ₦256.9 million
  • Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Imo State – ₦71 million
  • Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers State – ₦107.2 million
  • Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu, Anambra State – ₦193.4 million
  • Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State – ₦32.5 million

This round of funding supports NELFUND’s commitment to increasing access to quality education in Nigeria by providing financial assistance to students from various institutions across the country.
