Professor Ifeanyi Obi, a brilliant Nigerian architect, has defied the odds and become an outstanding scholar in Cyprus, despite facing significant academic challenges in Nigeria.Obi's journey began as one of the poorest students in his undergraduate class in Nigeria, plagued by personal issues and a discouraging prophecy from a prophet who claimed he would never achieve academic success. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and Building Technology from the University of Nigeria but graduated with a second-class lower degree, which presented a challenging future.

Undeterred by his poor undergraduate performance, Obi applied to universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada for his Master's studies. However, he faced rejection from 16 different universities due to his academic history.

Despite these setbacks, Obi remained resolute and pursued his dream of academic success. He eventually found an opportunity for a Master's Degree in Cyprus at Girne American University. With determination and improved study patterns, he excelled in his studies, graduating with high honors (3.8) and becoming the university's top student. His performance earned him a place for his Ph.D.

Obi went on to complete his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Construction Management and was offered a lecturer position at Girne American University, Cyprus. In just four years, he was named an Associate Professor of Construction Technology.

Furthermore, Obi's achievements extended beyond academia. He established a software company, BuildTech, which received approval from the United Kingdom endorsement body. As a result, he was granted an Innovator Migrant Visa to create a software laboratory in London, UK.

Obi's story serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that perseverance and determination can overcome even the most challenging obstacles. He now collaborates with universities that once rejected him, with hopes of inspiring future generations to never give up on their dreams.
