The National Industrial Court has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to call off the ongoing Strike.
It could be recalled that the President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke has said that if the Nigerian Government uses the court to force the striking lecturers to return to school, he warned that students will definitely suffer the consequences if the industrial court favors the Government.6

Mr Osodeke commended the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Pro-Chancellors for stepping in to resolve the issues
He, therefore, called on parents and students to appeal to the government to do the needful so that the strike would come to an end once and for all, rather than attacking the union.

ASUU member from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) who prefers to remain anonymous revealed that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has no choice but to accept the ruling of the court. He also stated that students will resume next week.
