NOUN Bursar Concludes Monitoring of 2026_1 Pen-on-Paper Examinations Across Northwest Centres
In line with management's commitment to maintaining rigorous academic standards and quality assurance, the Bursar of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Malam Nasiru Marafa, has concluded a extensive oversight tour of the ongoing 2026_1 Pen-on-Paper (POP) examinations across the Northwest geopolitical zone.
The comprehensive monitoring exercise, which commenced on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, aimed to evaluate internal compliance with institutional regulations and ensure the absolute integrity of the testing process.
Malam Marafa kicked off the tour in Kaduna State, conducting first-hand inspections at the Kaduna Main Study Centre and the Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). He was received by the respective centre directors, Dr. Babangida Iro and Mrs. Abimbola Esther Frank. The monitoring team observed morning operations at the NAF base before moving to the main city center to audit afternoon sessions.

Reflecting on the tour, Malam Marafa highly commended the centre administrators for their strict adherence to the university's statutory blueprints, rules, and guidelines governing national examinations. He emphasized that routine, independent monitoring remains a non-negotiable component of NOUN's foundational philosophy of delivering world-class, accessible, and uncompromised higher education.
"We must not compromise on these established thresholds," the Bursar noted, urging staff to remain vigilant to continually elevate the institution's global standing.
Responding on behalf of the regional hubs, the directors collectively reaffirmed their dedication to safeguarding NOUN's institutional image, adding that the flawless delivery of academic exercises remains their top operational priority.
