NOUN, DBI to Launch National Innovation Diploma Programmes

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) have formed a strategic partnership to introduce five National Innovation Diploma Programmes. These programmes include Computer Software Engineering, Computer Hardware Engineering, Network Systems and Security, Multimedia Technology, and Telecommunication Engineering Technology.

The agreement was reached during a courtesy visit by DBI representatives to NOUN's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the university's headquarters in Abuja.

According to a memo signed by Mr. Adefemi Oyedipe, Deputy Registrar in the Vice-Chancellor’s office, the programmes will be delivered through a blended learning format, utilizing both online and in-person sessions at NOUN and DBI centres.

A committee, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Technology, Innovation, and Research (TIR), Prof. Godwin Akper, has been established to oversee the development of the programmes. Committee members include Prof. Gregory Okagbare (Director, DAP), Prof. Grace Jokthan (Director, ACETEL), Dr. Greg Onwodi (Ag. Dean, Faculty of Computer Science), and the NOUN Registrar.
