The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Fagge Community Study Centre, Kano, has announced the tragic death of one of its students, Mr. Isah Muhammad Yakasai, a 200-level Criminology and Security Studies student.

Yakasai, an immigration officer, was abducted by bandits while on official duty along the Nigeria-Niger border in Sokoto State. After spending two months in captivity, he was killed last week by his captors.

In a statement, the Director of the Study Centre, Ibrahim Shehu, expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to Yakasai’s family and colleagues. The NOUN community described his death as a great loss and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
