The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has taken a significant step towards integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its academic framework.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, has inaugurated a 15-member committee tasked with producing AI-generated content for further consideration.

The committee, chaired by Prof. Shehu Adamu, the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, has four weeks to complete its assignment. The committee's work will determine the feasibility of deploying AI in content development, potentially paving the way for university-wide adoption.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of ethical leadership in AI deployment, ensuring that human capability is enhanced without compromising individual dignity or privacy. He also highlighted the need for transparent policies and robust safeguards to maintain trust.
