NSUK To Commence PG Program in Health Information Management, says VC

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed has hinted that the University will soon commence Postgraduate Studies in Health Information Management (H.I.M)

The Vice-Chancellor dropped the hint while speaking at the National Convention of the National Association of Health Information Students NAHIMS which was held at the Assembly Hall of the University over the weekend.

Professor Suleiman stated that Nasarawa State University, Keffi as the first-degree awarding institution to commence Health Information Management in Nigeria will commence full postgraduate studies from the next academic session having commenced the undergraduate degree program in the 2023/2024 academic session.

 

The Vice-Chancellor further stated that the University has fulfilled all accreditation processes from the National Universities Commission NUC and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB which will enable the University to list Health Information Management among the courses offered by the University and also appear on the JAMB admission brochure.

Professor Suleiman while thanking the students for choosing the University as the host for this year's annual convention urged them to engage in meaningful unionism and endeavour to come back to the University and further their studies in Health Information Management.

The high point of the event was the presentation of Awards of Honor on the Vice-Chancellor of NSUK Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, the Vice-Chancellor of  Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Kabir Bala, The Emir of Keffi, who was represented by the Wambain Keffi, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman, amongst other dignitaries who graced the occassion and the launching of HIMAGZ the official NAHIMS Magazine.

This year's National Convention with the theme “Effective Health Data Analytics In Digital Health: The Role of Health Information Management Professionals” has representation from Health Information Students from all over Nigeria.
