The Women in Chemistry (WIC) Chapter of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), in collaboration with NWISTEM and the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast initiative, has hosted the 2026 Annual Global Women’s Breakfast under the theme “Many Voices, One Science.”

The Women in Chemistry (WIC) Chapter of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), in collaboration with NWISTEM and the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast initiative, has hosted the 2026 Annual Global Women’s Breakfast under the theme “Many Voices, One Science.”

The event, held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences Boardroom, brought together royal fathers, faculty leaders, academic staff, and distinguished participants from neighbouring institutions in a show of solidarity for women in science.

In her welcome remarks, Professor S. S. Audu expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, for her sustained commitment to advancing women’s participation and leadership in science and academia.

Speakers at the gathering underscored the strategic importance of Green Chemistry, sustainability, global scientific governance, effective science communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration as critical drivers of innovation and responsible research.

Delivering key presentations, Professor Joseph B. Okoli of Bingham University and Professor M. Z. Zaruwa highlighted the imperatives of laboratory safety, sustainable scientific practices, and the transformative power of communication in shaping global scientific discourse.

The programme also featured postgraduate research presentations focused on climate change, presentation of gifts to the guest speaker, and networking engagements, culminating in group photographs.

The annual breakfast aligns with the global IUPAC initiative aimed at strengthening networks among women scientists and reinforcing inclusive participation in the advancement of science worldwide.
