NUC Accreditation Team Applauds Covenant University’s Dedication to Academic Excellence

A team from the National Universities Commission (NUC), led by Professor Rafiu Adesina Ganiyu, has commended Covenant University for its unwavering commitment to academic excellence during a recent accreditation visit to assess its Computer Engineering program.
During the visit, Professor Ganiyu highlighted the purpose of the accreditation exercise, which involved evaluating the facilities, academic resources, and research infrastructure within the department to ensure they meet the required standards for enhancing the educational experience of students.
In his welcoming remarks, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, the Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, reaffirmed the university’s dedication to continuous improvement. He stated, "Our desire as a university is to always stand out in everything we do, particularly in delivering excellence. What you call success today can be failure tomorrow without continuous improvement." He also acknowledged the NUC's role in helping the university achieve its goals.
Drawing inspiration from visits to other universities, Professor Adebayo emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation, sharing an example of an Eastern university where student projects were turned into published books, showcasing the significant impact institutions can have on education.
The accreditation visit marks a significant step in Covenant University’s ongoing journey to ensure that its programs meet global standards and contribute to raising a new generation of leaders. The NUC team, which included Professor Adewole Adedokun and Professor Bashir I. Isah, also praised the university's commitment to quality education.
The visit was attended by key officials, including the Registrar Mrs. Regina Tobi-David, the Head of the Computer Engineering Department Dr. Isaac Samuel, and the Dean of Engineering Professor Oluseyi Ajayi, among others.
