NUC Scores NSUK High As Academic Programs Get Accreditation, VC Applauds Regulatory Body
The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman has lauded the National Universities Commission for ensuring that the high standard of University education in Nigeria meets the basic minimum standards.
The Vice-Chancellor gave the commendation when she recieved the results of the October/November 2023 Accreditation of Academic Programmes in Nigerian Universities for Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Professor Sa'adatu while reacting to the results of the 2023 accreditation exercise thanked the Visitor to the University and Executive Governor of Nasarawa State His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule for his unwavering commitment towards ensuring that all programmes run in the University meet the National Universities Commission's basic standards.
The results which was signed by the Director of Accreditation of the NUC Engr. Abraham Chundusu reveals that in the Faculty of Administration, the Departments of Banking & Finance, Entrepreneurship Studies, Marketing, Public Administration, Security and Investment Management all had FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS.

In the Faculty of Agriculture, the Department of Fisheries had FULL ACCREDITATION Status.
The Accreditation results for the Faculty of Arts showed that the Departments of French, Hausa, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Theatre Arts all had FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS, while the Department of History had an INTERIM ACCREDITATION STATUS.
For the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, the Department of Mass Communication had a FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS.
In the Faculty of Education, the following programmes Education Chemistry, Education English, Education French, Education Physics, Guidance and Counselling, and Library and Information Sciences all had FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS.
For the Faculty of Environmental Science, the Department of Environmental Management Resources had FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS.
In the Faculty Natural and Applied Sciences, the Departments of Biochemistry, Geology and Mining, Plant Science and Biotechnology, Physics and Statistics all had FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS, while the Departments of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry had INTERIM ACCREDITATION STATUS.
For the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Departments of Economics and Sociology had FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS.

Section 10 (1) of the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of Institutions) Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, empowers the National Universities Commission to lay down Minimum Academic Standards for all academic programs taught in Nigerian Universities and also to accredit such programs.
