In a bid to equip the 2024 Batch B Stream 2 Corps Members with essential knowledge for their service year, the NYSC Plateau State Orientation Camp recently hosted a series of special training sessions.
The NYSC Plateau State Orientation Camp recently hosted a series of special training sessions. Mr. Emmanuel Oyinke, Akile TT, and Mr. Monday Ngbede led the sessions, covering critical areas such as the NYSC Act/Bye-Law, teaching methodologies, and basic Idoma language for beginners.
Mr. Emmanuel Oyinke provided a comprehensive overview of the NYSC Act and Bye-Laws, stressing the importance of discipline and adherence to the rules governing Corps Members during their service year. He emphasized that understanding the legal framework of the Scheme is crucial for a successful and compliant service period.
Akile TT guided Corps Members through teaching assignments, offering practical tips and strategies for those who will be deployed to schools. He discussed classroom management techniques, lesson planning, and methods to engage students effectively.
Meanwhile, Mr. Monday Ngbede introduced Corps Members to the basics of the Idoma language, catering to those who may serve in regions where the language is predominantly spoken. His session was designed to provide Corps Members with a basic understanding of greetings, common phrases, and cultural nuances, which could aid in their interaction with local communities.
