NYSC Warns Corps Members Against Participation in Nationwide Protest

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a stern warning to corps members against participating in the planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1 to 10,2024. The NYSC has warned that any corps member found participating in the protest will face severe disciplinary action in line with the scheme’s regulations.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a stern warning to corps members against participating in the planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1 to 10,2024.

The protest, themed “End Bad Governance in Nigeria," aimed at addressing issues of inflation and poor governance,has sparked widespread interest.

Yetunde Baderinwa, the NYSC Lagos Coordinator, highlighted the importance of corps members in promoting national unity and stressed the organization’s strict prohibition against involvement in protests. She emphasized, “Corps members are ambassadors of national unity and cohesion. Their participation in protests goes against the core values and mission of the NYSC.”

The NYSC has warned that any corps member found participating in the protest will face severe disciplinary action in line with the scheme’s regulations. “The NYSC’s policy is non-negotiable. Corps members must adhere to it to avoid punitive measures,” Baderinwa added.

The scheme has urged corps members to prioritize their role in fostering national unity and to refrain from engaging in activities that could potentially disrupt the peace.
