A bright young Nigerian man, Awe Ayodeji Lucky, made a life-changing decision by leaving his ongoing studies at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) after four years of undergraduate education. Ayodeji embarked on this transformative journey after being awarded the Japanese MEXT Scholarship, which granted him the opportunity to pursue studies in Japan.

Ayodeji's journey towards international education began in 2016, immediately after his high school graduation. Despite his fervent desire to study abroad, his family faced financial constraints that made it impossible. Consequently, he made the courageous decision to seek scholarships to realize his dream.

Ayodeji's scholarship application journey was far from easy. He recounted facing numerous rejections, especially between 2017 and 2020. He began by applying for scholarships that did not require language test certificates or SAT scores. However, rejections kept coming, making those years particularly challenging for him.

The path to the Japanese MEXT Scholarship proved to be a demanding one. Ayodeji shared that he applied for this scholarship five times before finally succeeding on his fifth attempt. He emphasized that the Japanese MEXT Scholarship is widely recognized as one of the most challenging scholarship awards in Asia.

Ayodeji left Nigeria to pursue his dream of studying Robotics. He is passionate about artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and believes they represent the future. He envisions himself in the year 2030, the developing autonomous remote control robots capable of mapping, tracking, rescuing, and providing real-time analysis to address the growing insecurity issues in Africa.Ayodeji's journey has been marked by his commitment to helping others. During his time at OAU, he aided numerous students from various fields in passing their studies. He also served as the General Secretary of the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economics Students at the institution.
