The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has declared a state of emergency over the conduct of Computer-Based Tests (CBT) following numerous complaints from students regarding systemic deficiencies.
Citing firsthand accounts, the Union highlighted issues including system glitches that skip questions, faulty equipment such as unresponsive mouses, overcrowded ICT centers, and inadequate infrastructure to accommodate large student populations. These problems, particularly in courses with over 250 students, have resulted in anxiety, poor academic performance, and unfair examination outcomes.

In response, the Union announced that all CBT examinations are postponed until further notice, urging university authorities to address the challenges to safeguard academic integrity, student well-being, and the credibility of the examination process.
