OGITECH Celebrates 2025 Christmas Carol with "Worship The King" Theme
The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, hosted her 2025 Christmas Carol, themed “Worship The King” [Psalm 29:1-2], on Wednesday, 17th December, at the Prince Dapo Abiodun Twin Lecture Theatre. The event was marked by heartfelt celebrations, inspiring messages, and soul-stirring performances.
In his goodwill message, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, Rector of OGITECH, expressed profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout the year. He also appreciated the progressive Governing Council of the Institute under the Chairman, Chief Ayotunde Ola ODULAJA and other invited dignitaries for gracing the occasion, urging attendees to embrace love and harmony. Reflecting on the true essence of Christmas, Dr. Oluseye emphasized it as a time to celebrate God’s love and kindness to humanity. He encouraged everyone to remain hopeful and trust in the Lord, assuring that brighter days lay ahead despite the challenges facing the nation.
Chief Odulaja, in his goodwill message, lauded the dedication of the Rector and the staff toward promoting academic excellence. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to the continued growth and development of the institution. Chief Odulaja further noted that the redemption brought by the birth of Jesus should remain central to the celebration of Christmas.
The Guest Minister, Rt. Rev’d Dr. Babatunde Joseph Adeyemi, Bishop of the Diocese of Badagry (Anglican Communion) who was represented by Ven. D. O. Ilegbusi, delivered a soul-stirring sermon on the theme “Worship The King”. He reminded attendees that Christmas is a period for reflection and self-assessment, stressing that the holiday should focus on worship, repentance, and embracing salvation—the ultimate reason for Christ’s birth. He noted, “Christmas is not a time for indulgence and distractions. It is a time for soul-searching and a commitment to live in accordance with God’s purpose.”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the Acting Registrar of OGITECH, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, who appreciated God for the success of the celebration. She encouraged staff, students, and guests to uphold godliness, reject corruption, and remain committed to serving both God and humanity. She also extended her gratitude to all guests and prayed for their safe journeys back to their destinations.
The celebration was brought to life with a series of uplifting performances, leaving attendees inspired and filled with the spirit of Christmas.
