OGITECH Hosts Landmark Registry Workshop to Modernise Higher Education Administration

The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has successfully concluded the maiden edition of its Registry Workshop, a strategic initiative designed to revolutionise administrative efficiency within Nigerian higher institutions.

The four-day intensive programme, held from March 31 to April 3, 2026, operated under the theme: "Contemporary Higher Education Registry: The Imperatives of Reskilling and Upskilling."

The Registrar and convener of the event, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, described the workshop as a critical intervention for the "administrative backbone" of tertiary institutions. She noted that the rapid evolution of technology, shifting government policies, and rising stakeholder expectations necessitate a workforce that is both agile and continuously trained.

Supporting this vision, the Rector of OGITECH, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, warned that a stagnant registry acts as a bottleneck for institutional progress. He challenged administrative staff to proactively update their skill sets to ensure seamless service delivery and effective coordination.

The workshop featured technical sessions led by seasoned administrators, including Dr. Omojola Awosusi, former Registrar of Ekiti State University (EKSU), who provided a roadmap for modernising registry operations.

The Governing Council Chairman, Chief Ayotunde Odulaja, lauded the institution’s leadership for prioritising professional development, noting that such investments are essential for OGITECH’s sustained growth and national competitiveness.

The successful hosting of this maiden workshop signals OGITECH’s commitment to setting new benchmarks for administrative excellence in the Nigerian polytechnic system.
