Olam Agri Awards Scholarships to Students in Ilorin and Kaduna
Olam Agri has awarded scholarships to students in Ilorin and Kaduna as part of its Seeds for the Future (SFTF) initiative. The scholarships, covering tuition, books, and uniforms, are aimed at supporting the educational needs of children from Olam Agri employees and local communities.
Olam Agri, a leading agribusiness in Nigeria, has once again showcased its commitment to community development by awarding scholarships to students in its host communities. The initiative, part of the company's Seeds for the Future (SFTF) program, aims to support the educational needs of children from its employees and local communities in Ilorin and Kaduna.
The recent back-to-school scholarship initiative was announced by Olam Agri’s Integrated Feed & Animal Protein (IFP) unit. The scholarships cover a range of educational expenses, including tuition, books, and uniforms, providing much-needed financial relief to families and enhancing the educational prospects of the young beneficiaries.
Amit Agarwal, Business Head of Integrated Feed & Protein at Olam Agri, emphasized the importance of education as a tool for unlocking potential. "These scholarships represent our investment in the future of our employees’ children and those in the communities we serve," Agarwal said. "We hope this support will inspire them to achieve their academic goals and contribute to society."
Anil Nair, Managing Director of Olam Agri in Nigeria, highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to positive community impact. Scholarship recipient Obi Amarachukwu, a student at Essence International School, Kaduna, expressed gratitude for the financial relief provided by the scholarship. "This generous scholarship has eased our financial burden, allowing my parents to focus on other needs," Amarachukwu said. "On behalf of my family and other beneficiaries, I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to Olam Agri."
Community leader Alhaji Ibrahim Isiaka, the Asiwaju of Ogbondoroko Land, Ilorin, also voiced appreciation. "We sincerely thank Olam Agri for supporting our children through the Back-to-School Scholarship programme," Isiaka said.
