Patients, Relatives Praise FG, MAUTH Yola for Free Healthcare Services

Patients and relatives at Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH) in Yola, Adamawa State, have commended the federal government and the hospital's management for introducing free healthcare services.

 

The National Emergency Medical and Ambulance Service (NEMAS) scheme, implemented by the federal ministry of health, provides 48-hour free emergency medical services, including admission, investigations, treatment, and surgeries.

 

According to the Head of Department (HOD) of Paediatrics, over 90% of in-born and out-born babies are benefiting from NEMAS free services.

The Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (CEMOC) component of the free healthcare services covers emergency obstetric and newborn care, surgical capacity, and blood transfusion.

 

MAUTH Yola has also introduced free Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF) repair and emergency obstetric care, including free cesarean sections.

Patients and relatives expressed gratitude for the free services, which have alleviated financial burdens and provided critical healthcare interventions.
