The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) in Effurun, Delta State, has refuted a report by an online media platform alleging deplorable learning conditions, including "flooded classrooms" and "snake-infested hostels." The institute described the report as "malicious," "baseless," and "intended to mislead the public."

In a statement, PTI Management condemned the report, stating that its classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and hostels are in "good and habitable condition." The institute challenged the online platform to produce verifiable evidence to support its claims, adding that it maintains a safe and well-lit campus with adequate electricity supply.

PTI has threatened to take legal action against the platform, demanding a retraction of the article and a formal apology within 48 hours. The institute cited Nigeria's Cybercrimes Act 2015 and defamation laws, emphasizing its commitment to quality training and development of Nigeria's oil and gas professionals .
