Professor Mohammed Hadi Suleiman Assumes Office as IBBUL Vice Chancellor
Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL) has welcomed Professor Mohammed Hadi Suleiman as its new substantive Vice Chancellor.
The handover ceremony, attended by key stakeholders, was marked by expressions of gratitude, prayers, and collective commitment to the institution's progress.
Professor Suleiman, in his inaugural address, expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, and the Emir of Lapai, Engr. Umaru Bago III. He acknowledged the overwhelming reception, describing IBBUL as "home" and stressing the importance of collaboration in achieving institutional success .
The new Vice Chancellor highlighted IBBUL's strong academic foundation, noting the presence of accomplished professors and an experienced management team. He called for collective efforts to elevate IBBUL's ranking, drawing inspiration from institutions like Covenant University and Ahmadu Bello University.
Professor Suleiman emphasized that leadership is a divine trial, urging prayers over congratulations. He encouraged students and staff to contribute ideas for the university's progress and assured them of an open-door policy for constructive engagement.
The outgone Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Hassan Ibrahim, expressed joy at handing over leadership to a substantive Vice Chancellor. He recalled his plea for extraordinary prayers for the university's continuity and sustainability, expressing gratitude that Allah had answered those prayers .
The Registrar, Alhaji Idris Saleh Kusherki, welcomed the new Vice Chancellor and reflected on the journey leading to his appointment. He expressed immense appreciation to Almighty Allah for making the occasion possible .
IBBUL, established in 2005, is a public university located in Lapai, Niger State, central Nigeria. The university has a strong academic foundation, with faculties including Natural Sciences, Management and Social Sciences, Applied Sciences and Technology, and more .
