Respected Teacher Is Very Upset About Robbery and Rape at Tai Solarin University of Education
Renowned educationist Mr. Olatundun Sholeye has expressed his deep concern regarding the recent occurrences of robbery and rape at Tai Solarin University of Education, located in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Sholeye has described these events as profoundly unsettling and disturbing, emphasizing the distressing nature of such incidents taking place within an educational institution, where students are present to pursue their studies.
He has urged the university's administration to take immediate and effective measures to prevent any such incidents from happening in the future.
Sholeye has also called upon the Ogun State police authorities to ensure that those responsible for these heinous acts are swiftly apprehended and face the full force of the law.

"I want the police to swing into action and arrest those culprits who committed such atrocities against the helpless students. The burglars must never go unpunished," he declared.
Additionally, Sholeye has appealed to both the state and federal governments to bolster security measures within the university, ultimately ensuring the safety and well-being of the students, not only at Tai Solarin University of Education but across institutions nationwide.
"The Ogun State government and the federal government have to provide adequate security for the university community, not only Tai Solarin University of Education, but higher institutions spread across the length and breadth of the country," Sholeye emphasized.
The distressing incident in question involved the alleged rape of four students at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. These students were victimized by suspected burglars who unlawfully entered a hostel in the Abapawa area of the town. During the break-in, the perpetrators stole valuable possessions and subjected four students to sexual assault.

The incident sparked outrage among the student body, eventually garnering the attention of the state government. Consequently, the university administration has chosen to suspend the ongoing second semester examinations until further notice.
