Abia State Polytechnic students took to the streets of Aba on Tuesday in a protest that ensued following the tragic death of a final year student. The incident, which occurred near Eldorado Hotel, sparked outrage among the student body.
The victim, identified as Ogechi Maureen, was fatally struck by a speeding truck while crossing the bustling Aba-Owerri Road. According to eyewitnesses, the unfortunate event unfolded after a tricycle operator collided with Maureen and fled the scene. Subsequently, the truck ran over her, resulting in her untimely demise.

The fatal accident took place shortly after Maureen had completed her final year examination at the polytechnic. Witnesses recalled her active participation in various activities organized by graduating students to commemorate the conclusion of their academic journey.
