The Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has pledged the institution's unwavering support for the Public Complaints Commission in its mission to promote social justice within the community.
Professor Mele made this assurance during a courtesy visit by the Commission to his office at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Highlighting the university's commitment to fairness, he noted that occasional misunderstandings are inevitable in a large institution but emphasized the readiness of UNIMAID to partner with the Commission to address such issues effectively.
The Vice Chancellor further recommended collaboration between the Commission and the university's Faculty of Law and Legal Unit to ensure proper handling of cases. He also encouraged the Commission to organize periodic workshops for staff, aimed at equipping them with the skills needed to manage student-related matters efficiently.
In his remarks, Honourable Yusuf Adamu, Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission, congratulated Professor Mele on his recent appointment and commended his proactive approach to fostering harmony within the university. Honourable Adamu assured the Vice Chancellor of the Commission’s dedication to providing support and ensuring the security of rights within the framework of the law.
