Reactions as IBBUL security officer set to complete his Master's Degree
A security officer who usually opens the gate for vehicles and others has revealed how he was encouraged to study in the university and currently, he is about to complete his Master's Degree monitored by myschoolnews.
The man, whose name is Zakari Alfa, is working as a security officer at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State, and is currently rounding off his Master's Degree programme in the Department of Adult Education in the university.
According to him, he applied for the security job after completing his National Certificate of Education (NCE)programme since he was unable to secure any other job, just as his friends discouraged him from doing the job because they said he was too big for it.
Narrating his journey on his Twitter handle @bitsofibbul, he said working in the university environment encouraged him to seek knowledge and so, in 2014, he applied for degree course in Adult Education and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2019.
He added that after graduation, he searched for a better job but was not lucky. So one of his lecturers encouraged him to further his education and do a Master's degree, as he also said he also has ambition to lecture in the university.
So based on the advice of his lecturers, he applied for the postgraduate programme, adding that though it has been tough financially, he was able to weather the storm as he has completed his course works, and is now writing his thesis.
