In a significant boost to neurological diagnostics, the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) has acquired state-of-the-art Electromyogram (EMG) and Electroencephalogram (EEG) machines.
These machines are poised to revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders at RSUTH's Neurology Unit. Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, the Chief Medical Director of RSUTH, expressed his excitement for the acquisition empowered by the support of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
He also emphasized that these advanced tools along with the neuroimaging (CT, MRI, Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound) capabilities and the newly opened stroke centre will enhance the ability of the Neurology Unit to accurately assess conditions such as epilepsy, stroke, and neuromuscular disorders and enable the provision of more precise diagnoses and personalized treatment plans for our patients.
