The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) is proud to announce the successful completion of a thorough accreditation assessment of its Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department by the West African College of Surgeons (WACS).
The Otorhinolaryngology accreditation team led by Prof. C. C Nwawolo, meticulously conducted a thorough assessment of the department’s adherence to WACS standards. Other members of the team are Prof. K.R. Iseh and Dr. A.N. Umana.
The process included a detailed evaluation of the hospital's facilities, equipment, quality management systems, and staff qualifications. The Head of the Department of ENT, Dr. Ureh Annabel Oparaodu facilitated the assessment by providing necessary documentation and access to department facilities.
Chief Medical Director Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor welcomed the accreditation team, expressing gratitude to Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara for his support. Prof. Alikor praised the Governor’s commitment to healthcare resource allocation, which has been pivotal in RSUTH’s development. He emphasized the hospital's dedication to excellence, noting its well-equipped departments and status as one of Nigeria’s cleanest hospitals.
The accreditation marks a significant achievement for the ENT Department, reflecting the staff's dedication to high-quality care and reinforcing RSUTH's reputation as a leading regional healthcare institution.
