The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) recently underwent a crucial international accreditation process for its Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) laboratory. The South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) team, led by Madam Tati Khubheka, conducted a two-day visit on May 6th and 7th, 2024.

The accreditation visit aimed to evaluate the PCR laboratory's adherence to international standards set by SANAS. The PCR lab plays a crucial role in diagnosing various infectious diseases by detecting the presence of genetic material in patient samples.
