Sen. Kaka Shehu Lawan Awards Multimillion-Naira ICT Centre to Kashim Ibrahim University

Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, SAN, has awarded a multimillion-naira contract for the construction of a fully equipped Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at Kashim Ibrahim University.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babagana Gutti disclosed this during an inspection tour of ongoing projects and facilities within the institution.

Prof. Gutti described the ICT Centre as a significant intervention by Senator Lawan aimed at enhancing digital learning, research and technological innovation at the university.

Upon completion, the centre will comprise modern classrooms, state-of-the-art computer laboratories, administrative offices, and other essential ICT facilities equipped with advanced technological tools to support teaching, learning, research and innovation.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed profound appreciation to Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, describing the intervention as a major contribution to educational development and the digital transformation agenda of Kashim Ibrahim University.

Prof. Gutti revealed the ICT Centre will be named after Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan upon completion in recognition of his outstanding support and commitment to the institution’s growth and development.

He also called on other stakeholders, public office holders, philanthropists and development partners to emulate the Senator’s gesture by supporting the university through similar interventions.

The inspection tour reaffirmed the university’s commitment to providing world-class facilities that enhance academic excellence, strengthen institutional capacity, and position Kashim Ibrahim University among Nigeria’s leading higher institutions.
