Six Hospitalized Among Rescued Kaduna Schoolchildren, Governor Cautions Against Politicizing Security
The six hospitalized students, comprising five females and one male, are currently receiving medical attention and will be handed over to the state government once they are medically fit.
Six out of the 137 rescued schoolchildren from the Government Secondary School in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been hospitalized at the Army medical facility, Dallet Barracks, Kawo, Kaduna.
This information was disclosed by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Major-Gen. Mayirenso Saraso, during the presentation of the rescued schoolchildren to Governor Uba Sani at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna. The six hospitalized students, comprising five females and one male, are currently receiving medical attention and will be handed over to the state government once they are medically fit.

Governor Sani cautioned against politicizing security issues and warned against spreading misinformation about the rescue operation. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing security and commended the efforts of President Bola Tinubu, security agencies, and Nigerians who prayed for the safe return of the abducted children. Governor Sani emphasized the need for unity and cooperation in addressing security challenges and reiterated the government's commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens.
The GOC, Major-Gen. Saraso, confirmed that a total of 137 students and one staff member were abducted by terrorists on March 7, 2024, with one staff member tragically losing their life in captivity. Despite no ransom being paid, the concerted efforts of security agencies, under the strategic guidance of President Tinubu, led to the successful rescue of the schoolchildren after spending about 16 days in captivity.

The rescued students, comprising 76 females and 61 males, were administered first aid at the Nigerian Army Troops Forward Operating Base Dandadau in Zamfara State before being conveyed to Kaduna.Governor Sani cautioned against spreading false narratives about the rescue operation and emphasized the importance of celebrating the safe return of the abducted children. He urged unity and cooperation in addressing security challenges, reaffirming the government's commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens across the state.
