SLUK Inaugurates Caretaker Committee of Alumni Association and Launches Official Alumni Portal

The Sule Lamido University (SLUK) Kafin Hausa, has conducted the official inauguration of the Caretaker Committee of the University Alumni Association and launches the Official Portal of the Association on Tuesday 18th November, 2025.

While inaugurating the Caretaker Committee, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, fcasson, mnae, described the inauguration as a new chapter in the University’s quest to build a vibrant, supportive and globally connected Alumni Community that will serve as a pillar for the progress and visibility of the University. Professor Yakasai further added that Alumni are not only ambassadors of the University but also its partners in growth, development and institutional sustainability.

On the mandate of the Caretaker Committee, the Vice-Chancellor identified four critical responsibilities the University entrusted with the Alumni Association which included, designing a functional and enduring structure of the Association in line with best practices, organising elections for the Executive Members who will lead the Association into the future, coordinating the inauguration of the University’s graduands during the forthcoming University Combined Convocation and strengthening engagement with alumni across the country and beyond to foster partnership, mentorship and institutional support, the successful execution of which will lay a solid foundation for an alumni body that is organized, inclusive, forward-thinking and deeply committed to the development of the University.

In his remarks, the Chairman University Adhoc Committee for the Establishment of Alumni Association, Dr. Abdulkadir Idris Ahmed, encouraged all the University Alumni to take ownership of the Association and collaborate deeply with the University to amplify their achievements and strengthen the University’s mission.

Highpoint of the occasion was the official launching of the University Alumni Portal by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics as well as Director ICT of the University, Professor Nasir Faruk.
