South-East Lawmakers Push for Compliance with NELFUND Verification to Secure Student Loans

The National Assembly South-East caucus has called on tertiary institutions in the region to comply with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) verification process for student loan disbursements. The caucus, led by Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe and Rep. Igariwey Iduma Enwo, emphasized the importance of this verification to ensure that South-East institutions and their students benefit from the national loan programme.

In a statement released on Sunday, the caucus highlighted that South-East institutions were missing from the list of beneficiaries of the N2.9 billion already distributed to 27,667 students across 19 institutions nationwide. NELFUND had attributed this omission to a lack of responses from South-East institutions regarding verification requests.
