Dr. Sandra MiMi Musa condemns the murder of 17-year-old Damilola Olowoyo and calls for increased vigilance against youth criminality in Kogi State.
The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Distinguished Honourable Dr. Sandra MiMi Musa, has expressed outrage over the brutal murder of Damilola Olowoyo, a 17-year-old 100-level student at Federal University Lokoja.
Dr. Sandra denounced the killing as “barbaric, satanic, and completely unacceptable in today’s society.” She highlighted her deep concern for the safety of young girls and praised the security agencies for their swift action, which led to the arrest of the prime suspect, Jeremiah Paul, and three other individuals allegedly involved in the crime.
Dr. Sandra condemned the heinous act, stating, “This devilish act committed by Jeremiah Paul and his accomplices is beyond reprehensible and must be condemned in the strongest terms.”
The Special Adviser also urged the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to intensify their investigations into suspicious activities among youths in Lokoja and other local government areas. She expressed alarm over the rising trend of youths engaging in criminal activities to acquire wealth, noting the conspicuous lifestyles of some individuals with questionable sources of income.
“These individuals flaunt an extravagant lifestyle without any legitimate source of income. Some youths stay in hotels for months or even a year without anyone questioning where their money is coming from. Landlords often rent their properties to suspected fraudsters without considering their means of livelihood,” Dr. Sandra remarked. She called on parents to be more vigilant, urging them to investigate any signs of unexplained wealth among their children.
Dr. Sandra also praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his efforts in safeguarding the lives and properties of Kogi State residents, noting that his achievements over the past eight months have been commendable.
