St. Peter Claver’s Parish Honors Federal Poly Oko Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, with Distinguished Chieftaincy Title

St. Peter Claver's Parish Ukpor has held a grand celebration for Dr.Chioma Irene Awuzie, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, on 28th December, 2025 where she was honoured with the distinguished award of Adaejiejemba of S.P.C Parish Ukpor.

The award is in recognition of her elevation as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko by President Bola Tinubu. The event attracted dignitaries from different walks of life including the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Dr.Basilia Igbokwe, Management, Governing Council Members and Staff of Federal Polytechnic Oko. Others include family members, friends and well wishers of the Rector.

The Parish priest noted that Dr. Awuzie is an illustrious daughter of Ukpor and described her as a light to the community who is worthy of celebration. He further affirmed that her appointment as Rector was a reward for her continued diligence. Dr. Awuzie who is from Ukpor by marriage was honoured along with two other daughters of Ukpor who have distinguished themselves in human advancement. They include Very Rev SR Dr.Obiageli Austine Terese Esotu and Chief Dr. Mrs Uju Okechukwu.

The Rector in her remarks thanked the parish for the honour. She also appreciated the other illustrious daughters of the community who were honoured along with her and thanked everyone who came to support them. Highlight of the mass include home thanksgiving by Dr.Awuzie and fund raising support for the parish."
