Adebayo Happiness, his parents, and an accomplice have been remanded for the murder of Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old graduate from Kwara State College of Health Technology.

Summit University Student and Parents Remanded for Killing Kwara College Graduate

A final-year student of Summit University, Offa, Adebayo Happiness, along with his parents and 24-year-old Timileyin Kolawole, has been remanded in prison over the murder of Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old graduate of Kwara State College of Health Technology. The case was heard on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Chief Magistrate Court in Ilorin. The Chief Magistrate, Wahab Saka, adjourned the case until September 12, 2024, for further proceedings.

Details of the Case:

The court has charged the suspects with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, theft, false personation, and causing the disappearance of evidence, as well as cybercrime-related offenses. The charges stem from the death of Mojisola, whose body was discovered at a refuse dump in Ilorin's Aleniboro area.

Adebayo Happiness allegedly killed Mojisola on August 10, 2024, at the Whitefield Hotel in Ilorin. The victim was lured under the pretense of attending a post-graduation party. The prosecution, led by ASP Isaac Yakub, detailed how Happiness's mother assisted in removing the SIM card from the victim’s phone, which was later hidden in a fence block, while his father helped conceal the victim’s iPhone in a family car.

The court has not yet taken the pleas of the suspects. The Chief Magistrate has ordered their remand at the Federal Correctional Centre, Oke Kura, Ilorin. The next hearing is scheduled for September 12, 2024.
