Taraba State University Appoints New Head of Department of Medical Laboratory Science

Dr. Wilson Achu Omang, a renowned academic and expert in clinical biochemistry, has been appointed as the new Head of Department of Medical Laboratory Science at Taraba State University.

Born on March 31, 1976, in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State, Dr. Omang obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Calabar's College of Medical Sciences in 2018. He is a fellow of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.

Dr. Omang began his academic career as a Lecturer II in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Calabar in 2020. He later joined Havilla University, Ikom, Cross River State, as a Lecturer I in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science in 2021. In 2023, he was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science at Taraba State University, where he currently serves.
Dr. Omang is a devout Catholic and is married to Lucy Abuo Omang (nee Ebu), with whom he has children. We congratulate him on his new appointment and wish him success in his new role."
