Taraba State University VC RECEIVES COMMENDATION FROM EHOAN, TARABA STATE CHAPTER
An achiever is such a person whose exceptional commitment and groundbreaking contributions have significantly advanced the field of environmental health, his innovative efforts have not only raised awareness about the critical intersection of students' well being on campus but has also catalyzed transformative changes in the Faculty of Health Science and particularly at the Department of Environmental Health Science of Taraba State University, Jalingo (TSUJ).

Through his visionary leadership and tireless dedication, the most active Vice-Chancellor of the Taraba State University Jalingo Prof. Sunday Paul Bako has set an inspiring example in the environmental health landscape of Nigeria such that many organizations and individuals are speaking of his breakthrough.
This is seen in the recent meritorious award presented to the Digital Professor by the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN) Taraba State Chapter as the Academic Trailblazer at the Senate Chambers of the University in Jalingo.
Speaking at the occasion, the president of the association Mr. Farinkada Bala said, the association has decided to honour the VC based on his recent antecedents in the University. He said, the Vice-Chancellor has given a lot of attention to the health courses with priority on getting them accredited by the NUC and other professional bodies which he said has manifested to the improvement and establishment of 6 laboratories for the faculty.
Identifying other areas of progress, Bala said, the recent disciplinary measures taken on indecent dressing by some members of staff and students are commendable and the right direction to sanity.

He commended the Vice-Chancellor for enhancing the University's infrastructure, noting that Prof. Sunday Paul Bako's transformational efforts have been evident throughout the campus.
Responding, the VC expressed gratitude to the association for acknowledging the University Management's modest achievements within the past one year and a few months in office. He assured continued commitment to maintaining these efforts, emphasizing their importance as lasting contributions to their legacy. Additionally, he highlighted the pivotal role played by Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas in the University's success and extended prayers for continued grace upon the State Government.
The Digital Professor mentioned that the University garnered praise in the recent accreditation assessment, particularly for maintaining a fruitful environment. He expressed gratitude to the association for both the commendation and the award bestowed upon him.
During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor informed the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria about his intention to establish a waste recycling centre within the University. This centre he said aims to collect and recycle metals, plastic, and fiber, forming the basis for a Waste to Money venture.
The VC assured that preparations for the launch and implementation of this initiative are well underway. Furthermore, he pledged to involve members of the association in environmental projects, with a particular focus on prioritizing the participation of students.
