TETFund Announces Two-Year Partial Suspension of its Foreign Scholarship

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has announced a two-year partial suspension of its foreign scholarship component under the Academic Staff Intervention Programme (TSAS) .

This decision, effective immediately, means the Academic Staff Training and Development Department (AST&D) will no longer accept or process new submissions for overseas sponsorship.

The suspension is attributed to several factors, including:

 - Operational changes in the foreign exchange market, leading to the abolition of the official exchange rate at the Central Bank of Nigeria

- Insufficient 2023 allocation for the TETFund Scholarship for Academic Staff Intervention Programme

- Paucity of funds regarding beneficiary institutions' available balances ¹

 All existing MoUs with partner institutions will remain unaffected, provided the beneficiary institution's available balance can cover training costs ¹. These partner institutions include:

 Beneficiary institutions are encouraged to promote staff applications for admission to these partner institutions, following the guidelines for accessing the TETFund Scholarship for Academic Staff Intervention Programme . Availability of funds will be subject to beneficiaries' balances at the Fund.
