The Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. George Mfongang has informed Corps Members that leaving a clean life devoid of drug abuse will guarantee them a fruitful and glorious future.

Myschoolnews reports he stated this while addressing the 2023 Batch B Stream 2 Corps Members currently undergoing their orientation exercise at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai today after the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) rally to mark the end of a 4-day sensitization lecture against drug abuse by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for Corps Members on camp.

Mr. Mfongang further used the occasion to inform the Corps Members that their parents and guardians have invested so much on them, hence, the need for them to resist the lure and negative influences to abuse drugs by friends and associates.

 

He informed them that going into drug abuse will turn them into a menace to the peace and wellbeing of their family in particular and the society at large.

Earlier, the Head of NDLEA in camp, Mr. Young Arney while delivering his lecture against drug abuse had exposed the Corps Members to the devastating consequences indulging in the act amongst the youths.

 

He urged the Corps Members to avoid friends, family members, colleagues and associates who do drug and who will try to lure them into it.

 

He concluded by describing drug abuse as a dreaded monster that must be tamed amongst the youths in the contemporary society.
