Thomas Adewumi University Inaugurates Committee for NMCN Accreditation of Teaching Hospital

Thomas Adewumi University, in collaboration with Thomas Adewumi University Teaching Hospital (TAUTH), has officially inaugurated a committee to facilitate the accreditation of the Teaching Hospital for clinical training by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

This strategic move reinforces TAU’s commitment to advancing healthcare education and ensuring that its clinical training facilities meet national standards for the Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc.) programme.

Chaired by Prof. Emenike O. Irakanulo, the committee comprises seasoned professionals from both the University and TAUTH, tasked with ensuring a seamless accreditation and inspection process.

The committee was inaugurated by the Founder/Chancellor, Engr. Dr. Johnson Adewumi, who described the initiative as a major milestone in the vision to transform the Omu-Aran General Hospital into a fully functional Teaching Hospital for the University. He appreciated members for their service and urged swift action towards achieving the September 30, 2026 accreditation target.

In his response, the Chairman assured Management of the committee’s dedication to delivering on its mandate and laying a solid foundation for the future of clinical training at TAU.
